Abstract

Alzheimer's Disease is a neurodegenerative infirmity that mainly reaches the elder people, the treatment of this disease has the principle of Acetylcholinesterase inhibition and the main med-ications used have strong side effects that lower the quality of life of the elderly population. With this problematic, the objective of the study was finding therapeutic alternatives for treating Alzheimer's disease, with the Physalis angulata L., Physalis peruviana L., and Physalis ixo-carpa Brot. methanolic extracts. After the experimentation the results were highly impressive, owing to the fact that the 3 species exhibit nice results with a few exceptions. Concluding that more studies in this field are essential to clarify the data founded on this study.
